The Cygnus Trio

The trio is a project created by Jonathan Stuchbery, Ben Stuchbery, and Erica Jacobs-Perkins, with an emphasis on new music, collaboration and accessible and educational programming. Cygnus is dedicated to breathing new life into classical music through a diversity of musical choices and venues. Selections include everything from baroque, to folk songs and dances, to new commissions, which can be heard in churches, cafes, art galleries, private homes, and women’s shelters. Another of their quests is to collaborate in the creation of new music. During their 2016 season, Cygnus gave the world premiere of Charles Zoll’s AMALGAM. Since then the trio has collaborated with composers Patrick Walker, Arie van de Ven, Anita Perry, and Karalyn Schubring, on new works for this ensemble. All of these pieces were recorded in 2018 on the trio's first album Amalgam.
